Preparing for this world.

As many of you know, August is expected early due to some complications. In preparation for her arrival I will be receiving two shots of steroids this week. These shots will help her lungs develop more rapidly so that she will hopefully be able to breathe on her own when she is born.
The thought of me getting a shot for my baby is beautfiul, as it is one of the last things that I can do to prepare her for entering this insane, cruel, confusing and wonderful world. It also reminds me of the women on Kenya who would walk for hours in order to have their babies recieve polio vaccinations, hepatits A shots as well as other medical care. They would literally walk all morning towards a tree of the horizon in order to give their children a chance at a healthier life. We may be from different countries, but we all live in the same world and have the same goals. We want to protect our children from as much as possible because we are wise enough to know that there is no much from which we cannot protect them.
